Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Mopscotch (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. License to Use the App

Beacon Light Investments grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Mopscotch on devices you own or control, for your own business use, subject to the App Store's or Google Play's applicable usage rules.

3. Your Content

Everything you enter into Mopscotch — client cards, schedules, access notes, photos, visit logs, checklist templates, turnover-list imports, and payment records — is yours. It's stored locally on your device. We do not access, host, or claim any ownership over it. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

4. Free Tier and Purchases

Mopscotch's free tier covers up to 3 clients, the Standard checklist template, unlimited visit logging and history, payment tracking, and earnings summaries, with no time limit. Mopscotch Pro removes the client cap and unlocks the Deep Clean and Move-Out checklist templates, the custom checklist builder, and reports (route PDF, client statements, CSV export, full backup). Pro is offered three ways: a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase — any of the three unlocks the identical feature set.

Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled through your App Store or Google Play account; Mopscotch itself cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf. The lifetime option is a single purchase with no recurring charge. If you buy Lifetime while a subscription is still active, the App will offer a direct link to cancel the now-redundant subscription. If a subscription lapses, previously created clients, visits, and records are never deleted or hidden — only the ability to add a client beyond the free-tier cap, use non-Standard checklist templates, or generate reports becomes locked again until you resubscribe, buy Lifetime, or drop back under the free-tier limits.

All purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are governed entirely by the App Store's or Google Play's own refund policies — Beacon Light Investments does not process payments or issue refunds directly.

5. Not a Payment Processor

Mopscotch records payments you tell it you've already received from your clients, by whatever method you were actually paid (cash, e-transfer, check, or otherwise). It does not move money, process transactions between you and your clients, or guarantee that any client will pay. You are solely responsible for collecting payment and for the accuracy of what you record.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App except as permitted by law, and not to use the App for any unlawful purpose. Mopscotch is built for a single operator managing their own client list — it is not licensed as a multi-user dispatch or employee-management tool.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement. Mopscotch does not guarantee that any client will pay an outstanding balance, that a payment reminder will be delivered or read, or that a turnover-list import will faithfully capture every detail of a list you paste in.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Beacon Light Investments shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including any loss of data stored on your device, or any dispute with a client over scheduling, checklist completion, or payment.

9. Changes to the App or These Terms

We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. If these Terms change materially, the "Effective date" above will be updated. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. Data already stored locally on your device remains yours; use Delete All My Data in Settings to remove it. A Lifetime purchase or active subscription is tied to your Apple or Google account, not to app data on the device, and is unaffected by deleting local data.
